Biggest crowd at Full Moon Party 

 

The Full Moon Party in Haad Rin, Koh Pha Ngan, has returnedto its pre-Covid numbers, attracting a massive crowd of tourists from aroundthe world. The event, known for its wild celebrations, saw an estimated crowd sizeof 20,000 to 50,000 people. Accommodations, including hotels and hostels, werealmost fully booked, reaching 99% capacity. The pier and boats were overwhelmedwith partygoers making their way to the island.

 

The party lasted until around 6 am, a few hours earlier thanthe original 8 am finish time, but afterparties continued until 7 am. Manyattendees spent several days without sleep, enjoying non-stop parties leadingup to the Full Moon Party.

 

Authorities reported a relatively peaceful and safe event,with no major serious incidents. Various government and law enforcementagencies were present to ensure safety, including Haad Rin Police, Koh Pha NganPolice Station, Immigration Police, Tourist Police, and marine police.Speedboats operating throughout the night were monitored for safety, withoperators instructed to enforce the use of life jackets and avoid overcrowding.

 

The large crowd created a festive atmosphere on the islandand generated significant revenue. Bars and bucket stalls were busy servingcocktails, while restaurants earned substantial amounts from late-night snacksconsumed by intoxicated tourists. Accommodations were nearly sold out, withlast-minute bookings being much more expensive compared to previous years.

 

Next month, there will be a conflict between the Full MoonParty and the Buddhist holiday of Makha Bucha Day. As the sale and consumptionof alcohol are prohibited on this holy day, the Full Moon Party will be held onthe following day, March 7, while Jungle Experience, a pre-party event, willbegin at 12:01 am on the 7th.
