New Koh Samui Flights From Kuala Lumpur With Berjaya Air

Malaysia's Berjaya Air began flying from Kuala Lumpur Subang to Koh Samui three times a week on 22 April 2026.

A new airline now flies to Koh Samui. Malaysia's Berjaya Air launched a direct service from Kuala Lumpur's Subang airport on 22 April 2026. The flight takes about two hours and operates three times a week. It is the first international route for the airline, together with a new service to Medan in Indonesia that started on the same day.

A small aircraft with business seats only

Berjaya Air uses an ATR 72-600 turboprop on the route. The cabin has only 26 seats, all in business class. In its announcement of 11 March 2026, the Berjaya group described it as the first ATR 72-600 in the world with this layout.

Flights leave from the Subang SkyPark terminal at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.

Fares and baggage

The airline announced a return package to Koh Samui priced at 3,996 Malaysian ringgit. According to the same announcement, the offer includes:

  • 30 kg of checked baggage.
  • 7 kg of cabin baggage.
  • A 200 ringgit voucher for Berjaya Hotels and Resorts.

Prices and conditions can change, so check the current offer with the airline before you book.

Who the service is for

Aviation news site ch-aviation describes the flights as charter services aimed at premium leisure travel in Southeast Asia. Berjaya Air is a small airline based at Subang and belongs to Berjaya Property Berhad. Before this launch it was known for flights between Subang, Redang island and Seletar airport in Singapore.

The new route adds a second airline name on the departure board at Samui airport, where Bangkok Airways is the main airline. With 26 seats three times a week, the capacity is small. It is a niche service, not a low-cost option.

What it means for your stay

For travellers who live in Kuala Lumpur, or who pass through Malaysia, this is a simple way to reach Koh Samui without changing planes in Bangkok. It may also interest groups and families who want a quiet cabin. Two points need attention. First, check which Kuala Lumpur airport your other flights use, because a change of airport needs a road transfer and enough time. Second, with three flights a week, your holiday dates must fit the flight days. Check the schedule first, then choose your villa dates around it. When you know your flight days, you can check villa availability for the same period.
