December 18, 2022

Due to the heavy rains and severe weather conditionsaffecting southern Thailand,

there have beendisruptions to hotels, short-term villa rentals and vacation services in KohSamui. The closure of Gulf Ferries has halted transportation between themainland and popular islands like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao for thenext two days. Furthermore, the Surin Islands, a national park located in theAndaman Sea, has temporarily closed to tourists.

During this time, it is advisable for tourists to prioritizetheir safety and heed the warnings issued by authorities. Although someindividuals may consider private boat rentals as an alternative means oftransportation, it is crucial to note that hazardous conditions, including two-to four-meter waves, make such options risky.

The Thai Meteorological Department has issued forecasts forheavy rains, thunderstorms, and rising waves in various southern provinces, including Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Pattani, Phatthalung, Songkhla, SuratThani, Trang, and Yala. As a result, villa rental agencies like Koh Samui VillaRental Agency and Koh Samui Villa Management Company must take these conditionsinto account when managing their properties and assisting their clients.

It is worth noting that the closure of the Surin Islands dueto thunderstorms is a regular occurrence during the monsoon season from May 1to October 31. This closure serves as a precautionary measure to ensure thesafety of tourists and highlights the risks associated with heavy rainfall andhigh waves.

Despite the inconveniences caused by the weather conditions, visitors can still explore alternative options for accommodation. Koh Samuioffers a range of exclusive, family-friendly, affordable, and seaview villasthat may be available for short-term rentals. Interested individuals can reachout to reliable villa rental management companies in Koh Samui for furtherinformation and assistance.
